Originally from Texas, Mark lives in New York City and has been involved with theatre all his life. From the start, directing was his passion. He has almost 40 years experience as a Producer, Director, Stage Manager and Designer. He believes the story comes first, and it is his job to get the writer's message to the audience through the actors and designers.
As a freelance director, some of his regional credits include Hello Dolly, Jesus Christ Superstar, High Spirits, Chicago, Children of a Lesser God, Sweeney Todd, Pirates of Penzance, and others. He has directed touring productions in German, Spanish, French and Yiddish.
Most recently, he served as Producing Artistic Director for one of Brooklyn's oldest Equity Showcase theaters. There he directing many critically acclaimed productions including Ragtime, Dreamgirls, Gypsy, Evita, Rent, It Shoulda Been You, A Few Good Men, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Chess, Run For Your Wife, and more. Mark is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and a former member of Actors' Equity Association.
